So, let’s get started!!

What is Rooting – basic Definition

So, what is rooting?

Rooting is nothing but of gaining “Super User Access” or “Root Access “on any Android device. By default Android devices will have some hardware and software restrictions, and we can overcome these restrictions by Rooting the Android Device. So that we can have complete access to that Android Device, Which is called as SUPERUSER ACCESS or ROOT ACCESS.
In simple language, if your device is not Rooted then you are just treated as a Guest, accessing that device, but after rooting your mobile you will have all the Admin rights, who will have total control over hardware and software of that Android device. You can even delete the system files and Default apps if you wish!!
Let me Explain you simply with an Example, Normally we used to see lots of ads while using some Android apps and Games and we don’t have any option in our Android devices to block such ads from getting displayed. By installing an App called Ad blocker we can successfully block all such ads. But android devices will not let you install that App unless that mobile is rooted so that after rooting your Android device you can install many of such applications as you will have SUPER USER access on it. This is just one of the use of Rooting, keep reading to know more about it!

There are many ways to Root your Android device. This varies from device to device. Normally in most cases, this is done my adding some files to your Android software to gain ROOT access. In most cases, these are steps followed (An example of Rooting Samsung Galaxy y)
  1. First Your Android Device should be taken to Kernel Mode. There will be some key combinations for every mobile, which will allow you to access that Boot mode. Example For Samsung galaxy Y and similar grade mobiles, to take them into kernel mode, Switch OFF the device > press volume Up button+ power button + center menu key, when you see Samsung logo on the screen just leave those buttons and your mobile will go into Kernel or Boot mode.
  2.  In kernel mode first you need to clear all the cache data and restore the settings

  14. Hi Sai, can you tell me the procedure to root my Lava iris 349s and XDAs developer site.Please….Please reply fast

  15. Actually, no, Android is linux-based kernel, so when you update it, it doesn't change the fact you have SU/SUDO or Super User access aka ROOT. All it does is update the firmware unless the device has some sort of control problem and wipes all your access privileges which can also be removed with root, it's 100% like having root on a linux server to perform tasks.
